My personal way of modelling rooms and interior-scenes like this one, is to start with a box or Extrude-NURBS and model it so that I finally have a single object with straight edges. I do so, because I usualy bevel edges to provide more realism. Reality doesn't provide you with "endless" sharp corners. After the room was ready and the windows have been set up, I startet looking for a good looking lightsetting, in this case only Vray-physical-sun combined with lightportals at the windows. Here comes the fun part, equip the room.
In the middle of the room I needed a special luster, which I created using MoGraph and some Spline-objects. Also some spots (IES) had to be built to provide interior light. The final scene was than rendered in different perspectives together with depth-maps for a final composition in AfterEffects with some nice DOF-blur.![]()
